The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is the nation’s primary source of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).
Currently, geolocating the source of video and audio recording on Earth is difficult. NGA seeks to determine if locations can be classified using machine learning methods based on sound. NGA seeks a novel approach for using non-speech ambient sound as a means of geo-locating video and audio recordings. NGA is in search of innovative methods of identifying, analyzing, and modelling these sound and acoustic scene indicators to uniquely classify audio recordings as originating in one of nine cities.
